A. Easily the most common question we get.
And the answer is every kind of house. Most of the houses we end up purchasing need some work (or a LOT of work). Maybe they have structural issues, or the house just hasn't been kept up well. For example, the roof leaks or windows are so old they barely keep the weather out. Any property where it would take too much of the owner's time and money to get fixed is where we can add the most value.
No matter the reason, no matter the condition, if you're thinking of selling, we'd love to talk.
Send us a message here if you'd like to know more about the process.
A: People from all walks of life, in every situation, and in any neighborhood. It's not for us to judge anyone wanting to sell their home. We welcome anyone who wants to have a conversation about selling their home.
It can be anything, from wanting a change of scenery to downsizing after the kids have left home.
Or any of the following.
1. You don't want to have to spend the time or money on costly repairs
2. You need to sell inherited property quickly
3. You have problem renters and want out
4. Relocating for work or family
5. An owner may be behind on payments or facing foreclosure
A: Each property is different.
There are many factors depending on the state of disrepair, the size of the home, how much in the way of improvements we have to make. You can read in detail how we work out our offer price here.
We will say that many owners are surprised that we offer more than they were expecting.
A: This is 100% your choice. The benefit of working with Big Creek Properties is that you choose the closing date that's convenient for your situation.
A: No – you don't have to do anything before calling us. We buy homes in any condition, and our team will undertake any and all necessary repairs. We see the potential in homes, even when they're not perfect. :)
A: Yes. We buy properties in any situation, including when occupied by a tenant (whether they are paying the rent on time or not.) Sometimes, we can even arrange for the tenants to stay in the home once we've redone the lease.
A: Oh, we understand your concern for sure! There are certainly some shady operators out there. Big Creek is different, and we've got the track record to prove it. We've been working in real estate for a long time, and in this business, if you're not honest and upfront, you don't last for long (and you don't sleep well at night either.)
We are fair and respectful to the people we work with. If we can't agree on terms we're both happy with, we'll wish you all the best and move on. Our mission is to offer a solution to your problem, provide you with good information, and then DO WHAT WE SAY WE'LL DO.
A: Nothing. There are no fees when working with Big Creek Properties.
We are not real estate agents. There are no commissions. No hidden fees. No extra charges. Our business model is based on buying homes, fixing them up and renting them to families in need. Not in nickel and diming sellers.
We are a local company trying to do right by Southeast Michigan home buyers and the families of our community.
A: Throughout southeast Michigan – cities like Westland, Wayne, Livonia, Redford, Garden City, Ypsi, Ann Arbor, Milan, Dexter, Farmington Hills, Novi, and plenty more.
We've had the chance to expand further, but we've lived here our whole lives, and we believe in Michigan and its rebound over the last few years.
A: We're not sure that anything we write here can answer that question. If you have any concerns at all, let's meet, we'll tell you our story, show you how we work and the process behind how we arrive at our offers for your home. Then, if you're not satisfied at any time, we'll shake hands, no hard feelings.
But, if you ask around. If you talk to homeowners or families, we rent homes to, you'll quickly find that we're a company that does what it says and has remained committed to our mission and a part of this community for almost 15 years.
